What is a Texas summer without your favorite cold treat to help cool off. Check out these unique places in Universal City serving up some local favs.
The Ice Cream House mixes the flavors of your favorite desserts into a scoop of ice cream. All their ice cream is handmade and created by owners, Jesse and Megliza Touchette. Choose traditional favorites such as vanilla bean, rocky road, butter pecan, or try something new. Some of their own creations include banana pudding, cinnamon toast crunch, peaches and cream, root beer, and avocado. It can sometimes be hard to decide so why not get a scoop of each! Those sitting in the tropical theme seating area can enjoy free board games and arcade games. Make the Ice Cream House one of your summer treat stops.
Bahama Buck's, the nation's premier tropical dessert franchise, is a concept so cool that it's hot! Providing guests with a "Taste of Paradise," Bahama Buck's is the ultimate tropical dessert experience. Their signature delight is premium gourmet shaved ice - shaved ribbons of fluffy sno, generously showered with one of more than 91 Bahama Buck's proprietary gourmet flavors. In addition to their "Greatest Sno on Earth", they offer made-to-order island smoothies blended with the freshest ingredients, fruit juices and gourmet flavors.
Each Bahama Buck's also offers Paradise Fruit™, a fresh blend of tropical fruits and their Island Specialty product line, including 100% Natural Drinks, Bahama Sodas and SnoBlast.
The Carrillo family serves up dessert favorites with a Mexican twist at Paleteria Bartolito de Jalisco. Some of their popular items include mangonada, papa preparadas, fruit cups, milk shakes, elote, mini pancakes with ice cream and fruit and so much more! You simply must stop by and see their menu. Store hours are Tuesday-Friday from 12pm-8pm and Saturday-Sunday from 12pm-9pm.
Lilly’s Frozen Treats is a summer staple in Universal City neighborhoods. Residents can spot Lilly’s polka dot van driving through neighborhoods or parked at the Northview Splashpad during operation hours. Lilly’s Frozen Treats serves a wide selection of favorite frozen treats from sherbet characters and bomb pops to ice cream sandwiches. In October, Lilly’s Frozen Treats will be parked every weekend at the Universal City Pumpkin Patch.
