Established in 2004, the Universal City Golf and Conference Center Committee, formerly the Golf Advisory Board, holds its meetings on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Olympia Hills Golf and Conference Center, located at 12900 Mt Olympus. All meetings are open to the public.
Composition and Duties
The committee is comprised of seven members, serving staggered terms. Appointments are in July of each year for a three-year term. Committee duties are to promote the
Olympia Hills Golf & Conference Center. Ideas and proposals for events, marketing, tournaments and fundraising are primary duties; however, the committee may carry out and perform special projects or duties as may be adopted by the city council from time to time.
Membership Requirement
Members of the committee must be residents of Universal City and hold neither any elected public office, nor serve on any other city board or commission, while serving on the committee.
Appointment is made based on experience or interest in the areas of business management and promotion. Working knowledge of the sport of golf is preferred, but not required, and members must be guided by a sincere interest in developing and promoting the operation of the municipal golf and conference center for the city.
