The Universal City Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (UCCPAAA) is promoting the “Neighborhood Watch Program.” The program is one in which citizens assume an active role in making the neighborhoods safer. Quite often, it is the residents of the neighborhood who can identify the presence of strangers and suspicious activity, two aspects that greatly assist police in combating neighborhood crime.
The success of the Neighborhood Watch Program is dependent upon the participation of residents who volunteer their time as Points of Contact in their neighborhood. Their role is to disseminate crime prevention information between the Police Department and their neighbors.
The UCCPAAA encourages citizens to get involved and be pro-active in taking back their neighborhoods and telling potential criminals that their neighborhood is actively involved in Neighborhood Watch initiatives.
Residents and neighborhoods that are interested in learning more about Neighborhood Watch can contact the UCCPAAA at (210) 659-0333 ext. 526 (voicemail only) or visit UCCPAAA.
