The Universal City Fire Marshal's Office is a law enforcement entity within the Fire Department which is responsible for Fire Codes Enforcement, Arson Investigations and Juvenile Firesetters Program.

The Fire Marshal and Fire Inspectors are responsible for inspections and reviewing plans on any new construction, existing buildings and structures. Additions or changes to any building or structure shall comply with the requirements of the code for new construction.  Additions or alterations shall not be made to an existing building or structure that will cause the existing building or structure to be in violation of any provisions of the City of Universal City Fire Code.  

The Fire Marshal's Office is an information source for fire protection systems that have been installed and need maintenance.
