Zone change applications are considered first by the Planning & Zoning Commission, which makes a recommendation to City Council. As required by State Law, a zone change request requires the publication of a legal notice and the notification of property owners within 200 feet of the subject site for which a zone change is being considered. Due to the time sensitivity of the legal notice and letters to property owners, applicants should be cognizant of the
Meeting Schedule for zone changes.
Careful consideration of the
Zone Change Application, the
Future Land Use Plan, the
Zoning Map, and
Zoning Use Regulations should occur before an application is submitted for review by staff. Please be advised that spot zoning is illegal and requests for spot zoning will not be accepted by City Staff.
