As required by State Law, an
application for a Specific Use Permit requires a public hearing with the Planning & Zoning Commission and a second and separate public hearing with the City Council. The process can take from six to eight weeks for the entire process to be completed. Applicants should review the Planning & Zoning
Meeting Schedule to determine submittal timelines and meeting dates.
Applicants should also be aware of the
Specific Use Standards by which the Commission and Council, at minimum, weigh the request. Other issues or factors may also be considered that arise during the public hearings or consideration periods.
The online
Zoning Map can be used to determine the permitted, specific, and not allowed uses per property address. The
Zoning Ordinance is made available online through Municode.
