Detector Inspection program


The Universal City Fire Department and American Red Cross want to keep the citizens of Universal City safe from the devastating effects of fire by providing a free home smoke detector inspection and replacement program.

Call 210-659-0333 ext. 785 and schedule an appointment to have your home smoke detector inspected. A firefighter will:

  • Inspect your current detectors for proper installation or defects
  • Replace three defective battery-operated detectors or install up to two new batteries if needed
  • Conduct a Courtesy Home Fire Safety Survey of your home

Smoke detectors are supplied and installed free of charge to residential homes in Universal City
