We continue to strive to achieve the best possible rating that is logistically feasible as we continue to upgrade current services and equipment that are vital to improve our Classification.
To establish appropriate fire insurance premiums for residential and commercial properties, insurance companies need reliable, up-to-date information about a municipality's fire protection services. Insurance Service Office (ISO) provides that information through the Public Protection Classification (PPC™) program.
ISO collects information on municipal fire-protection capability in communities throughout the United States. In each of those communities ISO Mitigation analyzes the information using the Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS). ISO then appoints a Public Protection Classification from 1 to 10. Class 1 denotes exemplary public protection, and Class 10 denotes the area's fire-suppression program does not meet minimum FSRS for recognition.
